Orlando Health is a $2.8 billion not-for-profit organization and leading healthcare providers in Central Florida. Its mission is to improve the health and quality of life of the individuals and communities it serves. Orlando Health maintains a rich tradition of serving the community and promoting cultural diversity. In addition to the many services it provides, including health fairs, screenings and wellness activities, the hospital is proud of its relationships with more than 100 organizations in Central Florida. In 2010, Orlando Health, the only Level One trauma center in Central Florida, re-established the Emergency Response Initiative. Orlando Health’s Emergency Preparedness Department finds ways to help the organization be better prepared for disasters of various magnitudes in order to provide the level of care needed during an emergency at any time. This training allowed the center to save 35 victims of the Pulse tragedy in 2016. The hospital waived all charges to victims and families of the Pulse shooting tragedy. The total value of Orlando Health’s community benefits program is $437 million.
